Information Collected by the App

Clip Hold does not collect or transmit any user information.
Usage data and crash reports may be shared if a user has "Share with app developers" turned on in the "Analytics & Improvements" section of System Settings' "Privacy & Security" settings, but the app itself has no feature to collect and transmit information whatsoever. Users concerned about privacy can use it with peace of mind.

Information Retrieved by Clip Hold

Clip Hold retrieves certain information to function correctly. The following information is retrieved:

• Clipboard contents
  • Used to save the clipboard history.
• Copy timestamp
  • Used to record and display the time of the copy.
• Keyboard input
  • Used to recognize global shortcuts.
• Running app names and information
  • Used to allow adding currently running apps when adding to "Apps to Exclude".
• Foreground app name and information
  • Used for automatic preset switching.
• Source app name and information (the app that was in the foreground when copied)
  • Used to detect whether an app is registered in "Apps to Exclude" and to display the copied app's icon in the History window.
• Files provided by the user through a file picker
  • Used to import history and standard phrases.
• System information and app version information
  • Used to automatically detect the feedback template language and pre-fill necessary information when the "Send Feedback" button is clicked within the app. The following information is retrieved for this feature:
    • App language (Japanese or other)
    • Model ID (e.g., Mac16,11)
    • CPU architecture (e.g., Apple Silicon (arm64))
    • macOS version information (e.g., Version 15.6.1 (Build 24G90))
    • App version information (e.g., Version 1.3.0 (Build 202508301714))

The information retrieved by the app remains solely within the app and is never transmitted externally.
